Nioh 2 remastered Ps4#
In the settings menu, players can toggle the option to open up multiplayer with PS4 players, or restrict it to PS5 players only. Thankfully, Team Ninja thought of everything, offering both cross-gen play and saving. Those who managed to get a PS5 but have friends still on PS4 may also want to play with them. Both games have a rabid fanbase playing the game to this day and many may want to hop back into their old save files. Nioh has been available on PS4 since 2017, while Nioh 2 launched on PS4 a year ago. It takes only about two seconds to respawn, making it near instantaneous and significantly reducing frustration. Sony developed the PS5’s SSD technology to nearly eliminate load times and that’s exactly the kind of results players can expect in the Nioh Complete Collection. Though not overly egregious, the 20-30 second respawn times could get annoying when working through particularly tough sections.
Watching load screens that could last up to a minute or even longer became inevitable, but they were always most annoying in games like Nioh where death could be common. Loading times had gotten completely unmanageable by the end of the PS4 era. Despite this, the Nioh Collection provides three great ways to experience both games on a PS5. Nioh 2 suffers from a handful more performance hiccups. Nioh runs the best, maintaining high resolutions and frame rates with nary a dip. In-game, the results are outstanding, though uneven across both games. Finally, the 120fps mode drops the resolution close to around 1080p, but pushes the frame rate all the way up to 120. The 4K mode drops those increased details but keeps the 60fps gameplay as it boosts the resolution to a native 4K. The PlayStation 5 Standard Mode delivers increased details, 60fps gameplay and a dynamic resolution. The Nioh Collection is no different with both Nioh and Nioh 2 featuring three graphical modes. This is accomplished through different graphical modes that allow players to prioritize what they find most important. PS4 games that have received PS5 upgrades all feature more details, enhanced frame rates and generally lean towards native 4K.
Nioh 2 remastered pro#
I haven’t tested this myself yet (I will tonight), but I’ve seen that suggestion. The PS5 is a beast of a machine, sporting vastly improved internals compared to the PS4 Pro and especially the base PS4. If you have the Nioh 2 season pass on PS4 and you’re seeing an error message about not having the “rights for the add-on required to resume the game with the downloaded character data,” try grabbing the equivalent PS5 DLC. One other tidbit: to switch between the PS4 and PS5 editions, go to the game on your PS5 home screen, press the Options button (aka the “start” button), and choose the Game Version you want. This process needs to be repeated for every individual save file you want to bring over to PS5. Next, boot up the PS5 version of Nioh 2 with the same PlayStation Network account and head to the title screen – go into “System,” and pick “Cross-Save Management.” Now you can download your data. Start with the PS4 version of Nioh 2 and go to the title screen – click into “System” and scroll down and select “Cross-Save Management.” In this menu, upload your PS4 save data to cloud storage. You can read the developer’s instructions on Twitter (along with visual aids), but I’ll recap them here. There’s a little more involved in the transferring process than I was expecting, and if you’re looking for pointers, Team Ninja has us covered. If you’re upgrading your copy of Nioh 2 to the remastered PS5 version, you’re almost certainly going to want to bring over your save file rather than start from scratch. You’ll have to manually upload your data inside the PS4 version before swapping over to Nioh 2 Remastered
